Grant Medical Center history
OhioHealth Grant Medical Center's rich history began in downtown Columbus when it was founded in 1900 by world-renowned surgeon, Dr. James F. Baldwin. Grant has grown into one of the top hospitals in Columbus and the U.S, as well as Ohio’s busiest Level I Trauma Center. We are recognized nationally for trauma care, orthopedics, heart and vascular care, neurosciences and robotic and minimally invasive surgery services. Grant is accredited by The Joint Commission.
We are also home to the Center for Blood Conservation (a bloodless surgery and medicine program), a human donor milk bank for premature infants in need and a nurse anesthesia training program.
