Our volunteers are an essential part of our team, providing assistance at Kobacker House, in patient homes and in nursing homes.
Through their generosity and tireless efforts, we are able to continue providing the highest level of care and special attention to each and every one of our patients that means so much.
Hospice Volunteer Opportunities
Because each volunteer is unique, we have many different opportunities where our volunteers can showcase and utilize their skills and talents. Some of our opportunities include:

How to Get Started
Our qualifications to volunteer for OhioHealth Hospice include:

Commitment to hospice philosophy and mission
-
Emotional maturity and sensitivity
-
Skill in listening, empathy and acceptance of people in their current life stage.

Successful understanding and coming to terms with losses in own life
-
Reference and background check (including fingerprinting)
-
Available to commit to at least four hours of volunteer work per week

Once your application and authorization forms are received, our volunteer manager may contact you to schedule an interview.
To ensure that all of our volunteers are adequately trained and prepared for working with our Hospice teams, we provide 12 hours of general classroom training prior to the first volunteering opportunity.
