Meet Our Team

Our specialists provide comprehensive care, including preventive care, annual gynecological exams and complete breast care services. Your care team may include physicians, nurses, gynecologists, reproductive health specialists, breast health providers, breast surgeons and other specialists.

For women who need it, the OhioHealth breast health program includes a team of expert doctors in five medical specialties. Our dedicated breast health nurses will guide and support you at every step.

If breast cancer is detected, we’ll work closely with OhioHealth’s cancer care team – including surgical, medical and radiation oncologists – to develop the best treatment plan.

Professionals who may contribute to your care include:

• Breast Health Navigator – A healthcare professional who helps guide patients through cancer care from diagnosis through therapies and support.
• Breast Surgeons – Surgeons who specialize in operating on the breast. Many have subspecialty training in oncology (cancer), plastic surgery or other specialities. They may perform tumor biopsy, tumor removal, breast reconstruction or lymph node surgery, which focuses on glands that make infection-fighting white blood cells.
• Gynecologists – Doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions that are unique to women. They provide routine physical care as well as advanced treatment for diseases affecting women’s reproductive systems and breast health.
• Gynecologic Oncologists – Doctors who specialize in women’s healthcare including diagnosing and treating cancers of the female reproductive organs.
• Nurses – Specially trained and educated healthcare professionals who collaborate closely with your doctors. They’ll take a hands-on role in delivering compassionate and expert care, from admission through follow-up.
• Obstetricians – Doctors who care for and treat pregnant women. They provide prenatal and postnatal care. They are also trained to deliver babies through vaginal or cesarean (surgical) methods. All obstetricians are also gynecologists.
• Pathologists – Doctors who study samples, such as breast tissue, under a microscope to diagnose cancer or other conditions.
• Pelvic Floor/Incontinence Therapists – Licensed physical therapists who treat women and men suffering from pelvic pain and incontinence issues.
• Physicians – Doctors licensed to practice medicine who will collaborate with other doctors, specialists and teams while directing your care – from diagnosis, testing and treatment plans through recovery.
• Urogynecologists – Specialists in obstetrics (childbirth) and gynecology (women’s reproductive care) or urology (urinary or urogenital organs). They evaluate and treat conditions that affect the female pelvic organs, including supportive muscles and tissue. Urogynecologists have advanced training focusing on the surgical and non-surgical treatment of non-cancerous gynecologic conditions.
