We develop a care plan that’s best for you
Our multidisciplinary team of gynecologic cancer experts work together to provide comprehensive treatment options.
- Surgery
Our expert gynecologic surgeons collaborate with other specialists to precisely determine the best treatment approach for you. This could include robotic surgery, or robot-assisted surgery, which brings more precision, flexibility and control to some surgeries. The robotic surgical system is controlled by your surgeon alongside a full surgical team. Advantages of these minimally invasive procedures usually include less pain, a shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery.
- Medical oncology
Our chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies are highly individualized. Your gynecologic cancer care team, will work together to determine and monitor the most effective chemotherapy treatment for your cancer. Our outpatient infusion centers offer a comfortable, convenient setting for treatment.
We also offer targeted therapies. These drug treatments block the growth and spread of cancer by interfering with specific molecules that are involved in the growth, progression and spread of cancer. This includes hormone therapy.
- Genetic counseling and testing
When members of your family have had the same or related cancers, there is a greater likelihood that the risk for cancer is hereditary. If you have an increased risk based on family history, genetic counselors take steps to help reduce this risk for you and your family. This could include increased screening, lifestyle changes or medication.
- Radiation therapy
Radiation therapy is unique to each individual and directed by your radiation oncologist. All our radiation therapy locations have real-time access to your plan of care, so you can schedule your appointments at the location that’s best for you.
- Interventional radiology
One of the newest and most aggressive options in cancer treatment today, interventional radiology targets and treats cancers that cannot be treated surgically by using heating, cooling or microwave energy to kill tumor cells. Patients benefit from low-risk complications and, in some cases, return home the same day.
- Cancer rehabilitation
Our specialized therapists can develop an exercise program to improve joint mobility, restore flexibility, reduce pain and improve strength so you can safely return to your usual activities.
You may also be referred to a pelvic floor physical therapist as part of your cancer rehabilitation. These therapists help treat pelvic pain or incontinence that can result from surgery or chemotherapy for gynecologic cancers.
