The entire joint program experienced so much early success, that the following year, in 1990, Grant invested $1.8 million to expand Grant South by 10,000 square feet to accommodate the growing program.
In 1995, another major expansion of the joint implant program took place. This time, two operating rooms were built, a dedicated rehabilitation unit was created and an entire floor of the building was renovated for the program. Another renovation occurred in 2010, which included updating patient rooms and waiting areas and changing the name from Grant South to the Bone and Joint Center.
In 2017, we expanded the Bone & Joint Center to add a four-story building to the existing building, adding approximately 63,000 square feet to the state-of-the-art medical center.
Today, Grant remains a national leader in total joint research. Our involvement in research includes the design of new implants that are used worldwide. We are also a referral center in the field of total joint replacement and home to one of the most respected sports medicine programs in the state.
