Doctors Hospital
- 100 Top Hospitals
- OhioHealth Doctors Hospital was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by IBM Watson HealthTM. Formerly known as the Truven Health Analytics® 100 Top Hospitals, this study spotlights the top-performing hospitals in the U.S. list based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available clinical, operational and patient satisfaction metrics and data. Doctors Hospital has been awarded in the “Major Teaching Hospital” category eight times since 2010.
- Primary Stroke Center
- OhioHealth Doctors Hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Achievement of Primary Stroke Center Certification signifies our dedication to fostering better outcomes for patients.
- Leapfrog Hospital Recognition Program
- “A” ranking in the Spring 2016 Hospital Safety Scores from The Leapfrog Group, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital. Doctors Hospital has received straight “A” rankings since 2013.
- Breast Imaging Center of Excellence
- In 2012, Doctors Hospital received ACR accreditation in Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast US, and US Guided Breast Biopsy and now has the designation of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence! The Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
- Cancer Care Program Accredited
- Doctors Hospital's cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program with commendation in clinical research and community education. This accreditation means we offer total cancer care, including state-of-the art diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, that meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Nationally recognized for quality care
- Doctors is the only hospital in central Ohio to earn dual accreditation by the American Osteopathic Association and the Joint Commission.
Dublin Methodist Hospital
- 100 Top Hospitals
- In 2014, OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital was named to the Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals® list in the "Small Community Hospitals" category for the third consecutive year. The award recognizes Dublin Methodist for excellence in key performance areas, including patient satisfaction, patient safety, quality of care, financial stability, and operational efficiency.
- Most Wired Hospital
- In 2010, Dublin Methodist Hospital was named one of the "Most Wired - Small and Rural" hospitals in America according to results of the "2010 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study." The Most Wired Survey is conducted annually by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, the journal of the American Hospital Association, which uses the results to name the Most Wired hospitals and health systems. The survey focuses on how the nation's hospitals use information technologies for quality, customer service, public health and safety, business processes and workforce issues. This recognition shows Dublin Methodist's commitment to embrace the use of integrated technology to improve quality of care, patient satisfaction and the accessibility of critical health information.
- Outstanding Patient Experience
- Dublin Methodist received HealthGrades’ “Outstanding Patient Experience Award” for 2009-2010. Ranked among the top 5 percent in the nation for Outstanding Patient Experience, Dublin Methodist is the only recipient of the Outstanding Patient Experience Award in the Columbus region, and one of just 10 hospitals in Ohio to win the award. HealthGrades, a national healthcare ratings organization, presents the award to hospitals that score in the top 10 percent nationally on a survey administered annually by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to measure patient perspectives and satisfaction with hospital care.
- Accredited Laboratory
- The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has inspected and accredited the laboratories in Dublin Methodist Hospital's Provider Performed Microscopy, Point of Care Program and Core Laboratory. The CAP Accreditation Program is based on a set of comprehensive and rigorous standards designed to help laboratories achieve the highest standards of excellence. Dublin Methodist's laboratories belong to an exclusive group of more than 6,000 labs that meet the standards of the CAP Accreditation Program.
Grady Memorial Hospital
- Top Performer on Key Quality Measures
- Grady Memorial Hospital has been named one of the nation's Top Performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in America. Grady Memorial is one of only 405 hospitals nationally and one of only 14 in the state of Ohio to earn this distinction of Top Performer based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions, including pneumonia and surgical care. - American College of Radiology
- Grady Memorial Hospital Medical Imaging Department has been accredited by the American College of Radiology for mammography, MRI, and OB/GYN, general and vascular ultrasound services.
- American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer
- In 2009, Grady was once again granted a Three-Year Approval Accreditation, with Commendation, by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. The hospital received this rating following an on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor of Grady’s Cancer Committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement processes.

- Grady Memorial's cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Community Hospital Cancer Program with commendation in clinical research and community education. This accreditation means Grady offers total cancer care, including state-of-the art diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, that meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments
- Grady Laboratory received a two-year Ceritificate of Accreditation and is certified in laboratory specialties.
- Comprehensive Occupational Rehabilitation Programs (Adult) Accreditation
- Grady Memorial Hospital has been accredited for Comprehensive Occupational Rehabilitation Programs (Adult) in seven areas of exemplary conformance.
- Laboratory Accreditation Program
- Grady Memorial Hospital's Pathology and Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the Joint Commission.
- Leapfrog Hospital Recognition Program
- Leapfrog Hospital Recognition award supports Grady's efforts at improving quality, patient safety and efficiency. It also demonstrates Grady's extraordinary commitment to transparency and quality improvement. Grady's overall efficiency score was calculated using both quality and resource utililization measures.
- The Joint Commission
- Joint Commisssion accreditation assures that Grady is continuously providing safe, high quality, treatment, and services by identifying opportunities for improvement and processes and helping with implementation.
Grant Medical Center
- Level I Trauma Center
- Grant has maintained verification as a Level I Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons since 1993. As the busiest adult Level I Trauma Center in Ohio, Grant Trauma provides care to thousands of seriously injured patients regardless of severity or complexity.
- 100 Top Hospitals
- In 2014, OhioHealth Grant Medical Center was named to the Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals® list in the "Teaching Hospitals" category for the fifth time. The award recognizes Grant for excellence in key performance areas, including patient satisfaction, patient safety, quality of care, financial stability, and operational efficiency. In addition, the hospital also received the Everest Award for the second consecutive year, having set national benchmarks for both the fastest long-term (five year) improvement and highest (current) performance on the 100 Top Hospitals’ Balanced Scorecard.

- In 2014, OhioHealth Grant Medical Center received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus and Target: Stroke Honor Roll awards again. The awards recognizes our hospitals’ commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.

- OhioHealth Grant Medical Center is a certified Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Achievement of Primary Stroke Center Certification signifies our dedication to fostering better outcomes for patients.
- Grant’s STEMI program

Grant Medical Center’s STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) program has been recognized for its commitment to a higher standard of care for heart attack patients with the American Heart Association’s “Mission: Lifeline Silver Performance Achievement Award.”
In 12 consecutive months, Grant’s STEMI program has treated 92 percent of eligible STEMI patients within 90 minutes, a timeframe recommended by the American Heart Association. Our treatment rate outperforms the Ohio rate of 65 percent and the national rate of 63 percent. These figures are a true testament to our quality of care and our coordination with EMS teams.
This award recognizes our constant efforts, dedication and passion to improve the health of those we serve. Thank you and congratulations to our physicians and associates in the Cath Lab and Emergency Department who made this accomplishment a reality.
- CoC Outstanding Achievement Award
- In 2010, Grant Medical Center's Cancer Care program received the CoC Outstanding Achievement Award, given by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. This three-year commendation award highlights the program's excellence for 36 standards and commendation in all seven standards for which commendation is available.
- Disease-Specific Certifications
- In 2010, Grant Medical Center was awarded three disease-specific certifications from The Joint Commission for Joint Replacement - Knee, Joint Replacement - Hip and Heart Failure. Grant also received an advanced certification as a Primary Stroke Center.
- Nursing Excellence-Magnet Status
- In 2010, the American Nurses Credentialing Center re-designated Grant Medical Center as a Magnet hospital. Magnet Designation is the highest level of recognition awarded to healthcare organizations for nursing excellence. Having first received this recognition in 2005, being re-designated places Grant among the top three percent of hospitals worldwide to receive Magnet status.
- Blue Distinction Center
- Grant is designated as a Blue Distinction Center by BlueCross BlueShield Association for Cardiac Care, Knee and Hip Replacement, and Spine Surgery.
- NAPBC Accreditation
- Grant is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), administered by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
- Teaching Hospital Cancer Program
- Grant Medical Center's cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program with commendation in clinical research and community education. This accreditation means we offer total cancer care, including state-of-the art diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, that meets or exceeds quality standards. They also received commendation in all standards.
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Paramedic Program
- The Franklin County Firefighters | Grant Medical Center EMS Education paramedic program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon review and recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
Marion General Hospital
- Excellence in Stroke Treatment
- In 2014, OhioHealth Marion General Hospital received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines® - Bronze and Stroke Silver Quality Achievement awards. The awards recognizes our hospitals’ commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
- 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital
- Truven Health Analytics, formerly Thomson Reuters, has named Marion General Hospital a 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital. Hospitals were classified into three groups, with Marion General Hospital earning recognition in the Community Hospital category. To identify the Top 50, Truven Health Analytics researchers analyzed 2010 and 2011 Medicare Provider Analysis and Review data, 2010 Medicare cost reports, and 2012 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare data. They scored hospitals in key performance areas including risk-adjusted mortality and complications, core measures, percentage of coronary bypass patients with internal mammary artery use and 30-day mortality and readmission rates.
- Gold Performance Achievement Award and CAD Gold Performance Achievement Award
- In March 2009, Marion General Hospital received the Heart Failure Gold Performance Achievement Award and CAD Gold Performance Achievement Award by the American Heart Association’s premier hospital-based quality improvement program’s National Steering Committee of Medical Professionals.
OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital
- America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery Award
- The America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery Award™ recognizes hospitals for superior outcomes in heart bypass surgery and heart valve surgery. Patients who have these surgeries at these nationally recognized hospitals have a lower risk dying.
- Coronary Intervention Excellence Award
- The Coronary Intervention Excellence Award™ recognizes hospitals for superior outcomes in coronary intervention procedures. Patients who have these procedures at these nationally recognized hospitals have a lower risk of dying.
McConnell Heart Health Center
- Diabetes Education Accreditation
- In 2010, The American Association of Diabetes Educators' accredited McConnell Heart Health Center's Diabetes Self Management Training (DSMT) program through the Diabetes Education Accreditation Program. The accreditation will allow patients increased access to critical diabetes education services.
- Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award
- In 2016, McConnell Heart Health Center received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for outstanding performance in patient experience. This marks the elventh consecutive year McConnell Heart Health Center has received this prestigious award.
- Facility Certification by the Medical Fitness Association
- In 2016, MHHC achieved the Facility Certification by the Medical Fitness Association. McConnell Heart Health Center is the only facility certified in Central Ohio and one of only 3 in Ohio. There are currently 37 total faciliites in the United States with this certification.

- OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 rankings of “America’s Best Hospitals” for neurology and neurosurgery. - The Patients' Favorite
- Riverside Methodist has received the Consumer Choice Award for Most Preferred Healthcare Services in Columbus every year since 1996. Each year, the National Research Corporation awards its prestigious Consumer Choice Award to hospitals whose consumers rate it as having the highest quality healthcare services. No other hospital in central Ohio has ever received this award.

- On August 10, 2011, Riverside Methodist Hospital was designated as an Institute of Quality (IOQ) for the following services: Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiac Medical Intervention & Rhythm Disease Diagnosis. Designated IOQ facilities demonstrate excellence in care and a commitment to continuous improvement, and represent an exceptional value.
- In the Top 100 Hospitals
- In 2011, Riverside Methodist Hospital was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Thomson Reuters for the ninth time. Riverside also received this recognition in 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002 and 2001, placing the hospital in the top 2 percent of hospitals nationwide. This award recognizes Riverside for outstanding performance in clinical outcomes, patient safety, operational efficiency, financial results and service to the community. - Columbus Monthly’s 2010 Best of Columbus recognized Riverside Methodist as the readers’ choice for “Best Hospital.”
- Best of Business
- In 2010, Riverside Methodist was selected as the winner of the Best of Business in Central Ohio in the Best Hospital/Medical Center category by Columbus C.E.O. Magazine. Riverside Methodist has won this award three years in a row.
- Chest Pain Center Accreditation
- Riverside Methodist received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) in 2010 for its high level of expertise in assessing, diagnosing and treating patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack.
- Gold Seal of Approval™
- In 2010, The Joint Commission re-certified Riverside Methodist with the Gold Seal of Approval™ in six disease-specific areas including: Heart Failure, High Risk Obstetrics, Joint Replacement – Hip, Joint Replacement – Knee, Joint Replacement – Shoulder, and Lung Cancer. In addition, Riverside Methodist was re-certified as a Primary Stroke Center. These certifications demonstrate Riverside Methodist’s dedication to providing patients the best possible care. The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits healthcare organizations and programs nationwide that meet specific performance standards.
- Magnet Recognition
- In 2010, the American Nurses Credentialing Center re-designated Riverside Methodist as a Magnet hospital. Magnet Designation is the highest level of recognition awarded to healthcare organizations for nursing excellence. Fewer than 6.5 percent of all healthcare organizations in the United States have achieved ANCC Magnet Recognition® status.
- Radiation Oncology Accreditation
- Riverside Methodist's radiation oncolgy department received accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer in 2010 and accreditation from the American College of Radiology in 2009.
- Excellence in Acute Myocardial Infarction
- Riverside Methodist Hospital received the VHA PEAK award for Performance Excellence, Achievement and Knowledge in the area of acute myocardial infarction in 2009.
- Four-Star and Five-Star Awards
- In 2009, Riverside Methodist was honored with nine Excellence in Healthcare Awards from Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC). Riverside received six 5-star, the highest level, for Anesthesia Services, Place to Practice Medicine, Laboratory Services, Nursing Care, Overall Quality of Care, Pathology Services, and 4-Star awards for Surgical Services and Medical Records.
- Honored for Organ Donation
- In 2007, 2008 and 2009, Riverside Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical Center were awarded the Gold Medal of Honor for Organ Donation from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration for maintaining an 80 percent organ donation rate from eligible donors for one year during a specified 26-month period.
- Top Cardiovascular Hospital
- In 1999, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Riverside was ranked among the Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospitals in the country. The award from Thomson Reuters (formerly Solucient) is based on a study using clinical and financial measures such as average length of stay, risk-adjusted complications, mortality rates and severity-adjusted costs per case. In 2006, Riverside was the only hospital in central Ohio to be named on this prestigious list.

- Two of our OhioHealth hospitals, Doctors Hospital and Marion General, were both selected as winners of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2013 by Truven Health Analytics (formerly known as Thomson Reuters). The selection for the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals award reflects the reliable cardiovascular excellence we provide to our patients, families and entire central and north central Ohio community. As a winner, Doctors Hospital and Marion General displayed top performance compared with their peers in cardiovascular outcomes, clinical process, extended outcomes and efficiency.
- 2011 CIO 100 award
- OhioHealth received the 2011 CIO 100 award, which recognizes the top 100 organizations around the world that demonstrate operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). OhioHealth earned this recognition specifically for the Stroke Network. Utilizing advanced technology, the Stroke Network connects patients and physicians who are located outside of the OhioHealth system with our stroke specialists to provide enhanced support and ultimately a faster recovery for the patient.
- Diabetes Education Accreditation
- In 2010, The American Association of Diabetes Educators' accredited McConnell Heart Health Center's Diabetes Self Management Training (DSMT) program through the Diabetes Education Accreditation Program. - Governor's Council on People with Disabilities
- The Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities (GCPD) has selected OhioHealth as the recipient of the 2010 “Employer of the Year” award for the Large Employer category. This award is given to businesses that provide outstanding employment opportunities for workers with disabilities.
- John Chapman Award
- In 2010, OhioHealth received the John Chapman Award from the Ohio Health Association. The award honors an Ohio hospital that has shown excellence in initiating or supporting hospital pollution-prevention programs.

- In 2010, OhioHealth Neighborhood Care Rehabilitation achieved clinical outcomes in the top quartile nationally and received the "Outcomes Excellence Award" from Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO), Inc. at seven of our rehabilitation sites.

- In 2010, OhioHealth was named one of the nation’s top 10 health systems for clinical performance by Thomson Reuters for the second year in a row. Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare, analyzed clinical quality and efficiency data from 255 health systems to determine the rankings.
- Top 25 Connected Healthcare Facilities
- In 2010, Health Imaging & IT magazine named OhioHealth to its "2010 Top 25 Connected Healthcare Facilities" list for the third year in a row. The annual list recognizes hospitals, health systems, imaging centers and physician practices that seamlessly integrate imaging and IT systems, provide physicians with immediate, anywhere access to patient data and demonstrate ROI and high patient and staff satisfaction.

- OhioHealth was named in the top 100 integrated health networks for 2010 by SDI (formerly Verispan), a healthcare data and consulting firm. The "IHN 100" ranks organizations that are graded on operations, quality, scope of services and efficiency.
- Award for "Outstanding Volunteerism and Dedication to Service"
- In 2009, OhioHealth received the “Award for Outstanding Volunteerism and Dedicated Service” from The Breathing Association.
- Corporate Caring
- OhioHealth received a 2009 Corporate Caring Award in the Health and Human Services category for large businesses from Business First. Corporate Caring Awards are presented annually to celebrate philanthropy in central Ohio. The nomination recognized OhioHealth's FY2007, $113 million in community benefit and our associates' overwhelming support of such programs as the American Heart Association's Heart Walk.
